Comparison
Mindset Prep vs SkillCertPro for ISO 27001 exam prep
Let us start by correcting the thing most comparison pages get wrong: SkillCertPro does cover ISO 27001. They sell a Lead Auditor question set and a Lead Implementer question set. So the real question is not "do they have it", it is where those questions come from, and what happens when you take an applied-judgement exam having practised on recalled ones. That is what this page is about.
Last updated 13 July 2026. SkillCertPro figures below are from their own product pages as archived by the Internet Archive (most recent capture 10 April 2026); their live site blocks automated checking.
The short answer
Both products will put ISO 27001 questions in front of you. They are built on opposite methods.
SkillCertPro's ISO 27001 sets are, by their own description, reconstructions of past exam papers. Mindset Prep's questions are written from the standard by people who have sat and marked these exams, and options are explained against the clause behind them. If you are choosing between them, you are really choosing between memorising what other candidates were asked and learning to reason the way the exam marks you. One of those transfers to the exam room. The other one is also a risk to your certification, which we will come back to.
SkillCertPro is a legitimate business with a large, genuinely useful catalogue of cloud and IT certification practice tests. Nothing here is a claim that the company is a scam. It is a claim about one specific methodology, in their own words.
What SkillCertPro actually covers
Their catalogue is built around cloud and IT certifications: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle, Kubernetes, CompTIA, and similar. Within that, they list two ISO products.
| SkillCertPro ISO product | What the listing says |
|---|---|
| ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor Exam Questions | 1,430 questions across 24 practice sets. Listed as "taken exclusively from the previous real exams". Lifetime access, mock-exam mode, explanations, cheat sheet included. |
| ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer Exam Questions | 330 questions across 6 practice sets. Same "taken exclusively from the previous real exams" line. Lifetime access, mock-exam mode, explanations. |
| ISO 42001 / ISO 31000 / ISO 27002 | No products found in their published listings. |
Where SkillCertPro fits well is exactly where their catalogue is deepest: a cloud architect or DevOps engineer preparing for an AWS, Azure or Kubernetes certification is well served there. That is a real strength and it is not in dispute.
Sourcing: skillcertpro.com blocks automated checking (HTTP 403 to every request we made, including with a standard browser user-agent). The figures above are taken from archived copies of SkillCertPro's own product pages - Lead Auditor captured 24 January 2026, Lead Implementer captured 17 February 2026, and both products re-captured 10 April 2026 (the figures above are from that most recent capture) - cross-checked against their live search-indexed product listings on 13 July 2026, which show both products still listed under current-year titles. The quoted phrase is theirs, not ours. Because we could not load their live site directly, treat the question counts as indicative of that snapshot rather than a guaranteed current figure.
Recalled questions vs questions written from the standard
This is the whole comparison, so it is worth being precise about it rather than gesturing at it.
A recall-sourced bank is assembled from what previous candidates remembered being asked. SkillCertPro's ISO listings describe their questions as "taken exclusively from the previous real exams", and their own site organises these products under URLs and product tags containing the phrase "exam dumps". That is their terminology for their own product, which is why we are comfortable describing it that way.
There are two problems with studying that way for an ISO exam, and only one of them is about ethics.
The practical problem: ISO Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer exams are applied-judgement exams. You are given a scenario and asked what an auditor should do next, or which finding is correctly classified. The marker is testing whether you can reason from the clause. A bank of recalled questions trains you to recognise the specific items someone else happened to sit, which is a fragile thing to lean on when the paper in front of you is not that paper. Recognition is not the same skill as judgement, and only one of them is on the exam.
The other problem: certification bodies require candidates to agree not to disclose live exam content. Material reconstructed from real exams sits on the wrong side of that agreement, and a certification obtained with it can be invalidated. We have written about this at length in our honest alternative to ISO 27001 exam dumps, and for the newer standard in the ISO 42001 dump alternative. It is your call to make, but it should be an informed one.
Mindset Prep's 2,500+ questions are written from the published text of ISO 27001, ISO 42001, ISO 31000, ISO 27002 and ISO 19011, and every one of them cites the exact clause it draws from - that citation is a hard requirement for publication, enforced in the database, so a question without one cannot go live. No question in our bank is a recalled exam item. That is a deliberate constraint, and it is the reason we can put the clause citation next to a wrong answer: we know where the question came from, because we wrote it from the standard.

Practice model: adaptive selection
Mindset Prep is adaptive. The selector reads what you have answered correctly, where you have plateaued, and what you have not seen in a while, then chooses the next question to maximise mastery growth.
A fixed set of practice papers cannot do this. A couple of dozen static sets will happily re-drill the control you already know cold while the clause you keep fumbling shows up once. For a candidate with a booked exam date and limited evenings, that is the difference between hours spent and progress made.
Explanations: clause-cited, not just detailed
Mindset Prep wrong-option explanations cite the ISO clause they draw from. This matters more than it sounds: the marker is looking for the answer that aligns with the standard's wording, not the answer that sounds plausible.
Standards we cite in rationales include:
Pricing
Mindset Prep is US$24.99/month, or US$199.99/year, covering every ISO exam we support. 3-day full-access trial with card up front. The free per-exam practice question pages need no card and no signup.
SkillCertPro sells each question set as a one-time purchase with lifetime access rather than a subscription. Their listed price varies by the currency they show you, so we are not going to print a single number here and pretend it is the number you will see.
We are also not going to tell you which is "cheaper", because the two are not like-for-like: one is a per-exam purchase of a fixed question set, the other is a subscription covering five ISO exam banks with adaptive practice and an AI Coach. If price is genuinely the only axis you care about, a one-time purchase will usually total less than a subscription held for months. That is a fair point and we would rather say it than hide it. The question is what you are buying, and whether it is the thing that gets you through the exam.
Which one should you pick?
Pick SkillCertPro if you are preparing for a cloud certification
- You are sitting AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes or CompTIA, where their catalogue is deep.
- You want a one-time purchase with lifetime access rather than a subscription.
- You are comfortable with a recall-sourced question model for that exam.
Pick Mindset Prep if you are sitting an ISO exam
- You have a date booked for ISO 27001 or ISO 42001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer, or ISO 31000 Risk Manager.
- You want original questions written from the standard, with the clause cited on wrong options.
- You do not want your certification exposed to the risk that comes with recalled exam content.
Some practitioners genuinely need both
A cloud security architect is often asked for a cloud certification and ISO 27001 in the same job description. If that is you, the sensible stack is their catalogue for the cloud exam and ours for the ISO exam. The two do not overlap, and we are not going to pretend we do cloud certifications.

Frequently asked questions
Does SkillCertPro have ISO 27001 practice tests?
Yes. SkillCertPro lists an ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor question set and an ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer question set, sold as one-time purchases with lifetime access. This is worth stating plainly, because a lot of comparison pages get it wrong: they do cover ISO 27001. The difference between the two products is not whether ISO 27001 is covered, it is where the questions come from and what else is covered.
Where do SkillCertProโs ISO 27001 questions come from?
Their own product pages answer this directly. Both the Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer listings state that the questions are "taken exclusively from the previous real exams", and their own site files these products under URLs and product tags that use the words "exam dumps". That is a recall-based model: the questions are reconstructed from what previous candidates saw. Mindset Prep does not work that way. Our questions are written from the standard itself by subject-matter experts, and wrong options are explained against the clause that makes them wrong.
Can I use SkillCertPro for ISO 42001 or ISO 31000?
We found no ISO 42001, ISO 31000 or ISO 27002 products in SkillCertProโs published listings when we checked on 13 July 2026. Their published ISO line is ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer; the rest of their catalogue is cloud and IT certifications such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Kubernetes and CompTIA. Mindset Prep covers ISO 42001 Lead Auditor, ISO 42001 Lead Implementer and ISO 31000 Risk Manager alongside both ISO 27001 credentials.
Is using recalled exam questions a problem?
It can be. Certification bodies require candidates to agree not to disclose live exam content, and material reconstructed from real exams sits on the wrong side of that agreement. Using it can put your certification at risk if it is later invalidated. There is also a practical problem: ISO Lead Auditor and Lead Implementer exams are applied-judgement exams, so memorising recalled answers prepares you for the questions someone else was asked rather than the reasoning the marker is testing.
